Sumo Japanese Cuisine: A Fresh Take on Sushi in Subang Jaya

Good food quite fast to serve. We came on a Friday afternoon about 12pm. Salmon sushi is pretty fresh. There was an aquarium with two beautiful cichlid fish. Waiter is fine and top up our green tea constantly. Also very easy to get wifi, password is written on wall. Their homemade sauce is awesome, we bought one to bring home.

This restaurant has been one of the most regular visits by family in Subang. It has been around probably for one of the longest in taipan with at least a minimum more than 10 years. I’ve tried almost every single dish from the menu. But I think the dish that best represents the restaurant is their Chicken Katsu Curry Rice. Why I specifically mentioned this dish is because if you’re coming to this restaurant expecting a purely authentic & genuine Japanese food then sadly your expectations won’t be met. But instead, what you can expect is a majorly Japanese food mixed with some local flavours and dishes. And their Chicken Katsu Curry Rice is one such dish. But overall their food is fine but not the best. But their service & environment has been pretty good & decent. Hope to keep coming back with family & possibly inviting some friends to the place.

Been wanting to come here so we dropped by after church today. Wow the place was really nice and authentic Japanese decor. The menu was quite extensive and the price very affordable. I really enjoyed the soba I had and the tempura was so good , crispy and deep fried to perfection. Will definitely be coming back here again!

1. Great food. Love their unagi don, they don't overpower the flavour with sauce. 2. Price hiked, but same as any other restaurants around, so just deal with it. 3. Lovely service. 4. Chill ambience and quite spacious. Been here for a few times, and never disappointed. Imo an underrated Japanese restaurant in Subang Jaya area. It deserves recognition.

An old-school japanese restaurant that has been operating in Taipan for many, many years. Menu is quite extensive and you can expect Japanese meals that taste very homey here. The sizzling dishes are my go-to order, and it comes with a bowl of rice and Miso soup. Prices are affordable, but parking here can be very difficult.

Delightful meal. Fresh and very affordable. Order a sashimi set for myself. Very generous portion. Love the plating. Cosy environment. Friendly staff. Was not crowded as I arrived for late dinner. Highly recommended.

We arrived for late lunch on a weekend and it was not crowded. Sashimi slices are thick and generous. Bento set was good - teppanyaki vege cooked well. Vege nabe was tasty and the soup was not too bland.

I’ve been to this restaurant for more than 20 years. This has been my childhood favourite japanese restaurant till date. Runs by a family and the quality has never dropped. On top of that, the price is reasonable too! Their tempuras and cold soba are always my favourite. Even their sashimi are great! It can be quite pack over the weekend as there are limited seatings.

Guys, The price is slightly lesser than rakuzen range but the food is fantastic! It's fresh and the portions are not bad. Try their salmon skin roll. Cuts of sashimi is thick and honestly really better than ordinary. Highly recommended. This is the second branch. The first location is at usj
